During the coronavirus pandemic, our workshops will take place online via Zoom. If you would like to book a place, please use the online form below and we will get back to you with full instructions on how to take part. The session is interactive and specific to York so we do need to limit the number of places available therefore can only accept bookings from families in the local area.
Thinking about breastfeeding? Come to one of our antenatal workshops
Treasure Chest volunteers run free monthly antenatal breastfeeding workshops where pregnant people and their partners can attend to gain a better insight of how to get off to a good start in breastfeeding your new baby.
Our workshops give you the opportunity to explore the reasons why breastfeeding is a great way to feed your baby, or babies! We will let you know what to expect covering everything from the first feed to breastfeeding in public and expressing. We will also signpost where to find help and support in the local area just in case you need it.
Finally, there is the opportunity to talk to a breastfeeding parent about their experiences and ask any questions you may have. Partners are welcome too so you both have the opportunity to ask questions and prepare before your baby arrives. Workshops take place on the third Saturday of every month, from 9:15 am and will last approximately 3 hours.

What families have to say about our antenatal workshops
Many, many thanks for a fab workshop. Really appreciate you taking us through it live, and my husband especially felt like he got a lot out of it. Gave us some really good things to discuss (hope we weren’t too distracting chatting away muted to each other), which reinforced everything we’re preparing to do. Invaluable workshop.A Mum-to-be who attended our July 2020 workshop
Thank you for providing such great information on today’s course. Everything you said was very valuable and I would never have thought of half of the things you mentioned! I feel so much more prepared now. Thank you.A Mum-to-be who attended our April 2020 workshop
I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say how fantastic my husband and I thought the Antenatal workshop was. My husband was very apprehensive about coming, however both of us found it the most helpful 3 hours of our pregnancy so far! We’re expecting first little boy in July and are now feeling far more prepared for or breastfeeding journey, particularly my husband who is now feeling far more informed on how he can also play a huge part in the success of this. Thank you again and I hope to bump into some of the Treasure Chest team after we’ve had our little boy. We can’t thank you enough for the positive information and guidance you’ve given us.A Mum-to-be who attended our May 2019 workshop
